Edwin Bitter was born in Zevenaar, Holland in 1959, but has lived in Villecroze since 1981.
Self-taught, he started sculpting in 1998. Being a goat farmer he was inspired by the beauty, the sensuality and the serenity of nature.
Attracted by the discovery of new techniques, often by chance he works with different materials for example plaster, lead, iron, wax, white blond etc.
Encouraged by family and friends he tries to capture the essential of everyday life and make it shine through his art.
Great admirer of Maillol and Modigliani, he is in total agreement with Picasso who said “art is the lie closest to the truth”.
